+1 roger. I live in East Tennessee and around the house gunfire off in the distance is almost as natural and repetitive as the birds singing haha. Wouldn't have it any other way

We have a V.F.W. less than 1/2 mile from us and they have regular turkey shoots. Most of my neighbors have at least 1 firearm in the house and several have a dozen or more. My next door neighbor is/was president of one of the local gun clubs. Although my neighborhood is too densely housed to allow shooting, we hear plenty of shots fairly close to out subdivisions.

Sorry I'm a bit late on this question but you folks have handled it. That being the question was how best to see bullet hits on a target, versus how to mount a scope. I'm going to do a separate post on the Amega and Ultimak handguards. Jim Edited by New2brass - Oct 09 2025 at 9:13am |

I have a leupold 2.5 forward mounted scope on one of my carbines. It is now the carbine I shoot the most.
I have this mount. It says Alpine will not work with it, however in the FAQ section, it says in the details that early Alpines may have GI barrels. If yours has one, it will mount up. Brett

That is the one. Its perfect for shooting clay pigeons on the hill and a full day of fun. Plus, my wife likes it as well. She has an eye issue that limits her ability to use irons. Brett

I have access to a 100 yard range and it does great. I have only shot it a few times past 100 yards and it was good for it as well. The issue is the scope is fixed at 2.5 power so the farther the target the harder is to see. But i like the 2.5 power because the field of view is a lot at 100 yards. The scope has been discontinued, however, I bought mine New on eBay. Brett |
