Watching this now for the third time.  I believe I see some carbines with type B rear sights and type B front bands.  The films in this series was all shot in 1945 as U.S. troops entered Germany to the end.

Still shot @ 40:20 when bridge collapsed is a rough view.

It is a rough view, and it's a wonder the Ludendorf bridge lasted as long as it did.  Long enough to establish a solid bridgehead (while the pontoon bridge was being built) on the east side and roll on farther into Germany.  Too bad they couldn't save it.
