Anybody have any good photos of the “squiggly” line sometimes found on Inland T1 rear sights….to the right of the sans-serif S?
For the life of me, I can’t decide if I have that line on my 6-digit Inland. Can’t figure out if it’s a random mark or the “squiggly” line. It’s a definite mark and does not look like a random scratch.

Thanks. I think the term “squiggly” can be interpreted in different ways. Mine looks much like yours. Kinda sharp-pointed on each end but not necessarily squiggly. It’s definitely not a accidental mark.

The same marking is mentioned in this thread.
https://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/m1-carbine-flip-rear-sights-original_topic7467_post63658.html?KW=leaf+sight#63658 Also, CCNL #35-3 lists an Inland sight marking of "S" with an angled dash to the right. |

This carbine has the squiggly flip sight too. Looks like the same squiggle mark as the sight I posted.
There is no doubt the squiggle was stamped. It does not look like a machining mark. Merry Christmas everybody. Skippy
