Bubba strikes again. Here is a hand-stamped 6.8 million Inland that has an incorrect “type II barrel band”. It was a mystery since there is no sign that the front R stamped sight has ever been removed. Upon inspection you can see that Bubba sawed off the bayonet lug while the Type III band was still on the barrel – there are saw marks on the barrel where he sawed through the band. It’s a nice carbine otherwise.

I understand that can be quite common in states that won’t allow bayonet lugs.

I corrected the carbine with a SI Type III barrel band. The front sight was heavily staked - I didn’t want to beat the pin out - so I bought a roll pin pusher tool (shown in photo).

I thought for sure that I was going to break the tool, but it held up and pushed the sight pin right out.

@ shadycon – as for the screw on the bubba barrel band, I checked War Baby and the CCNLs. I cannot find anything that lists ACE Hardware as a subcontractor to Inland. 😊
