Hello, everyone.
I'm pretty new to the forums, and I happened to have gone to another tour of the Museum of the US Army at Fort Belvoir, VA recently. I realized that there were a number of carbine examples peppered throughout the facility representing different eras and focus, so I thought I'd share a few that I came across. This first post is of a Rock-Ola carbine that illustrated the wartime need for any and all manufacturers to pitch in and make weapons and equipment for the war effort. (They also had a display with a Remington-Rand typewriter, and a Remington-Rand Colt 1911A1)

Sorry for the pics quality, it was just my phone. Hard to snap pics due to glare, but it was an honest Rock-Ola receiver at least! Not sure about whole gun, but someone here may know better. Just thought it was cool. I will make other posts on the other carbines that were there, too.

Adam

Yesterday, it worked. Today it is not working. Windows is like that.

Only a few people who see it will realize it is a post war rebuild.  Most will get stuck on the fact that typewriter companies were making guns.

You have to admit that one of the cool things about carbines is who all made them.

My son has an 03A3 Smith Carona 06, it's a fine rifle. My Quality Hardware and Machine carbine that's a superior shooter.

In war everyone steps up.
