Hello everyone.
I have been looking for an M1 Carbine Paratrooper. Many of you have given me suggestions on where to start and how difficult it is to find one? I have seen several on Guns International recently more of today that are advertised as being period correct in all manners. They all look as though they were brand new out of the crate from WW2. There are quite a few photo's and parts descriptions listed with each one. If they are so difficult to locate, how could there be that many that are in that condition. I am interested in purchasing one, but my knowledge of paratrooper versions is very limited and I don't want to get stung. Any help would be greatly appreciated please.

Thanks
Dom aka chgolaw1

I just gandered at 4 of them. 3 had reproduction rear sights and the 4th didn’t have good photos. I didn’t even look at the rest of the rifle after seeing that.  Hopefully that tells you what you want to know. Homework is paramount when collecting carbines….

Conner38,

Cheers, question on your rear sight fake determinations. Are you strictly talking about flip sights? Thx JB

Connor and John. Nice to meet you. I am becoming very disgruntled and tire of looking! Seems like everyone I see and contact says or claims the real deal.

Thanks

Yes, to my knowledge the rear flip sights I observed appeared to be reproductions. The photos weren’t the best, but I think they were reproduced.
