My Underwood M1 Carbine features a Singer Receiver.  There are stamp marks on the Receiver on the right side just below the rear sight beavertail.  I tried to attach a photograph, but I apparently do not have the authorization necessary.  The stamp marks are approximately 1/16" tall and some are illegible, but go something like the following:

GFCC (this last C appears to be over stamped with an R) COSAO6O0.

Like I said, the lettering is muddled up to being nearly illegible, so I may not be reading them correctly.  Does anyone have any ideas what this is for?

Thanks in advance for your help,

David

David, it is an import marking, GFCC CO SACCO for GFCC Corporation Sacramento Ca.

You have the authorization necessary to post pictures. It is all about sizing. See below link for help. If all else fails, PM me.

The mark is exactly what you say, if one knows what to look for.  Thank you so much for all your help.  David
