Those are the style of fake stamps sold by a seller called bardall1 on ebay. In the link Matt_x linked that guy bought many of his stamps from Bardall1, Feedback proves it. Picture link I added that matches yours is one of those stamps. We can't say for sure if tagmil stamped it or came upon it already stamped. We can say this forum is based on Collectors from the 70's that have researched the M1 carbine in depth.
This isn't the best picture out there of a real RMC stamp, but the best in my collection. You'll see the difference. I roamed some of tagmils auctions today as you've seen. There was NO Type II C marked barrel band only Type III C marked Bayonet bands. His is a obvious fantasy item thats been cut down. There also was NO WRA stock like he describes that I posted the pictures of. He has other fantasy items listed I didn't add, and stocks with fake CC stamps.
He's on a list now he'll never get off with some nasty company. Unless he makes things right. Money isn't worth your reputation, let alone burn our Vets!

So, after much back and forth, the seller has refunded my money.

Good to hear that jarhead, I think we were all hoping that he would do the right thing.

As P.T. Barnum stated, "There's a sucker born every minute". These sellers have no ethics or scruples. They are more than willing to prey on those that are new to the hobby. I have a small collection of fake flip sights and early barrel bands that testify to my ignorance when I bought these parts from an unscrupulous well known Carbine Club member many years ago. Most of us go through this kind of learning curve.

Definitely a learning experience. Lots of help from the members of this club, which I certainly appreciate.
