Came across this what appears to be a Type III stock, low wood, short channel with TI in the slingwell and near by Serif I. It may just be the grain or picture but to the right of the I 'Could' be a Bomb. I tried to save the image to share but it's a WEBP file. I don't know how to convert those to a jpeg. So best I can do is link the auction.
The stock is really dirty and pictures aren't in focus enough to see if there is any type of Crossed Cannons stamp. 1 hole under the buttplate like found on made for Inland and made by Trimble stocks.
Any thoughts on the TI and I stamp? And possible Bomb near the I ? TI = Trimble to Inland? I and Bomb (?) = Acceptance by Inland? Or Inspection by? Ch-P777 |

We have seen this before. If you look at the upper right you will see the typical TRIMBLE but slanted. Below T.l. and to the left the I ![]() What you are calling a bomb is something I have seen along the middle of the slingwell where the machining passes overlap. Typically oval instead of round. This is is like the slides were see with heavy machining marks inside. Shame the stock is so beat up. as to the Marking T.I. to me this suggests it was directly from Trimble as it does not have the TN, which would be Trimble to NPM. The TN typically being just below the TRIMBLE.

I don't see a TRIMBLE stamp here or from the auction's vertical view. No big deal though, just thought bringing up another TI stamped stock was worthy. You don't see these often. And I did state: "What could be a bomb"
I'm well aware of the milling pass left in the middle. With better pictures of that stock cleaned it might have had a CC stamp on it. Seller pulled it this morning before I was home from Church. I was tempted to buy just to see. Ch-P777
