The ordnance wheel stamp on the butt stock looks like it was recently stamped in the wood

Looks like the hammer spring could be the upgraded 26.5 coil spring.  Can't really tell with it compressed.

CCNL 346, page 21, under "HAMMER SPRING AND PLUNGER"

On CC data sheets, all Inland carbines after serial number 492,xxx reported 26 1/2 coil springs even though the change to the straight hammer was later.

Cartouche looks good, serial # is a little late for checkered safety but I don't think I would change it if it were mine. I've seen many Inlands in this serial # range with 26 1/2 coil spring and a dogleg hammer.

There is a ink stamp in the slide well of the stock (159 3). It suggests a Julian date of early June 1943.

Looks like a new extractor. The color match on stock and hand guard, had to have been stained at some point . I can see cross grain sanding on the right side just behind the sling cut. Also, the condition of the stock compared the condition of the sling looks unmatched.
Otherwise a real gem.

IMO appears to be original, as manufactured. Sold for $2501, which I think was a bit high.

Thought it went a little high as well but we want what we want. At first thought the narrow bcuckle on the sling was out of place.
