I have seen some m1 for sale with the early spring tube. Are they any  good? Or should i stay away thanks

No reason at all to stay away. Quality Hardware only made spring tubes. Spring tube receivers by the other manufacturers often sell for a premium price because they are not too common.

See article on type 1's - watch for cracks and I don't shoot mine.
Another thing to watch for is a spring tube where the barrel was improperly changed. If torque is misapplied it will crack the shelf next to the receiver ring. Not too long ago there was one for sale on another forum that had obviously suffered this fate.
