At about what serial number range, did they stop putting the P proof on the pistol grip of the stock? I have a carbine in the mid 3.5 mil range.

CCNL 361 says that the Circled P on the bottom of the grip was stopped at the end of Inland's second serial block (2912520-3212519)

Ok just got home the number of my Inland in question is 3020305. This carbine has the circle P on the bottom of pistol grip. 11- 43 barrel date. The stock has one of the nicest burled walnut stocks I have seen.
