It's an early Type 1 or 2 trigger housing (per Riesch) made by National Lock Company for Quality Hardware (per Ruth).

Agree it is a type II made by National Lock for QHMC. Is that just a scratch at the rear mag wall or has it been modified to a M2 housing?

Good eye Wayne. I notice with the additional picture Dan added that it has seen both dogleg and straight hammers.

Dan, does the trigger housing in the first post also have the M2 selector spring notch modification?

it is a typical modification for use in an M2. 9 spring cut is unremarkable.
Will try to take some pics soon

Looks to have extra 'Depth' cut milled on the flat/forward of the trigger cut out.

@ painter, that extra depth is typical of modified THs to give the sear clearance.
1st M1 88, interesting observation on the trigger guard as I had not noticed it. Checking other housings I think it is a machining error or allowance as I have seen it on a few different make THs and is not specific to a particular manufacturer that I have noticed, but will be looking for now on.

I see the Long 'Typical Depth' cut as found on modified THs.
This one has a Extra Short Depth cut from the opening about 1/2"-3/4" forward. Maybe the start of another pass, That ended up not being needed?
