Hey guys and girls! I recently bought 4 30 round mags and they all say made in u.s.a with no other markings other than that. The seller claims they were pre ban but I'm not so sure. I do not have a picture of the markings themselves but I have a pic of what it does look like off the internet. Anyone have any insight on these mags?
This picture is what the markings look like on mine:

It is a commercial 30 round magazine made by Scherer in the 70s-90s,  that was cut down.
They produced over 1.8 million carbine magazines with multiple different markings. Early on he used some of the USGI 15r magazine markings to make them seem USGI. Later he went to the Made in USA as well as the most common marking of M2.
When there foresaw magazine restrictions they cut down a bunch of magazines so they could still sell in compliance of any bans.

CCNL 265 Nov 1998 there was an update on the 30 round magazines by Larry Horner, Liberty Armory.
He interviewed Tony Scherer and reported on the mags.

Thanks for the reply. I have 4 30 round mags so I'm assuming they are pre ban as there's no date on them at all and if they were post ban I'm assuming they would have markings stating so unless they are different from other post ban magazines. I will take a pic of the ones I have tonight when I get home but I think you narrowed it down for me and I feel a little better thinking these are pre ban still.
