I have always wanted a good M1 Carbine and finally ordered one yesterday. A Fulton Armory service grade with standard barrel, as the chrome lined ones out of stock and could be two or three months months for delivery. I have never in my 79 years had a gun with a chrome lined barrel so don't see a problem there
Just gathering up some ammo in anticipation, and will probably get a set of reloading dies and a shell holder, Any suggestions on who makes better dies and if carbide is available.

I know. I still have a Marlin 39a my father bought me back in 1952, and the 336 .35 Remington he got a year later, along with a Win 70 featherweight he got me for HS graduation in 1963. I also shoot some black powder guns and know about cleaning them I don't always give a deep cleaning after every shooting session, just an oily patch down the barrel and a wipedown with some RIG, then into the safe with a golden rod type heater/dehumidifer.
