Didn't the Navy have an ordnance plant in Macon, Georgia? I believe that it is now a superfund site.

Naval Ordnance Plant Macon a.k.a NOPM or NOP Macon. 1961 Orientation Brochure - https://www.epa.gov/sites/default/files/2014-03/documents/safety_quality_quantity_9_5_61.pdf While they don't appear to have had an overhaul or maintenance function regarding small arms in '61 0r '62 they did have a security detachment. Perhaps those marks had something to to with the armory of the security det.
