Here are photos of an I slot stock, marked RMC in the sling well
along with what looks like an I
stamp. The stock has an Inland cartouche
on the right side.
Rock-Ola to Inland transfer stocks are described in the Spotters Report in CCNL 319-5, as well as in War Baby, where Rock-Ola supplied 10,084 stocks to Inland on 10/06/1943. These transfer stocks would have been paired with 2.9 million Inlands. Unfortunately, this particular stock went through a rebuild at Standard Products and the high wood was cut down. The stock also looks like it was exported to Israel where it got stamped with an IBM serial number?
Is my description of this stock correct? It is an interesting stock but, is there any collector value in this transfer stock or has any collect-ability been ruined by the rebuild and serial number stamp? Thanks, Skippy |

Some of the Ole timers referred to that I Stamp as the Canted I or Slanted I back when I was first getting started.
Your description sounds pretty good, all but the 'Export' part. I'd consider it collectable just because of the slingwell markings, the rest are just it's history. Thx,

Thank you for the information, Ch-P777.
There was one of these RMC to Inland transfer stocks on a recent Gunbroker auction (auction #1132174743). The stock still had the high wood and was on a 200,000 series Inland rifle. Since Rock-Ola supplied these stocks to Inland in late 1943, I am guessing that this stock is not original to the 200,000 Inland with a 3 – 43 barrel? Speaking of auctions – I saw this NPM receiver on an auction that looks like the serial number is a double strike - either that or I have had too much coffee today..

Just a guess,
But maybe the right side of NPM receiver wasn't tightened down enough for the roll strike? Hear ya about the coffee, black rifle brand got me shaky today... Ready to fly, but rolled ankle says NO! Ch-P777
