While I'm not entirely new here, after a local gun guild meeting this week I felt encouraged to make my first post.  Hello!

Here's my '43 Inland, the barrel is dated 11-43 and the frame is 29819xx.  It has a U. marked low-wood "I" stock (OI) and a Q-RMC handguard. Flip sights, push safety, flat bolt, and who knows what else.  I've had it for around 20 years and shot it several times.  I did recently fill out a data sheet and will send it in.

Hi and welcome to the Forum from New Mexico.

I appreciate you posting pictures directly to the Club web site rather than linking to an image hosting web site. That way we are assured that the pictures survive here as long as we exist. Sometimes image hosting web sites disappear.

It would also be appreciated if you could post your Data Sheet here as well so all the members could see the details of your Inland. Data Sheets otherwise would only be accessible by the Forum moderators/administrators as they are considered confidential. Your carbine has some interesting features, and I suspect there is more to discover.

The quality of your pictures is exceptional, and I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks for the welcome!  The file size for my above photos was too large (even when resized and compressed) for this site's built in hosting size limit of 500kb so I used imgur.

I'll try and take some additional photos of a detail strip later this week. Would this be the correct place to share them, or should I start a thread in a different sub forum?

I'll try and upload the data sheet as a jpg if I can

Thank you for posting your Data Sheet.

I am anxious to see the additional pictures you plan on posting. I would recommend posting them in the "Carbines of the Collectors" sub forum with a link back to this thread. That way you won't need to move or repost the pictures in this thread.

I am particularly interested in seeing pictures of the rear sight (left side), mag catch markings, operating slide markings (inside bottom) and trigger housing detail (where hammer hits TH). Also, is the sear unmarked? If so, a picture would be interesting as well. Your DS notes several barrel proof marks including double "P" and a punch mark. More pictures please!   Also, your DS notes a later short chamber skirt, but I don't see barrel threads that are normally visible when the skirt is absent.

Again, thank you for sharing!

Thanks, it is likely an interpretation error on my part with the data sheet and short skirt.  There is a change in the left contour of the skirt at the approximate location where the short skirt would terminate. Threads are visible on the right side. After a closer look it appears it may be a long skirt.  I'll get a thread going in the other section soon.

Maybe it is my old eyes, but in your picture looks like the trigger guard does have the hole in the left side behind mag catch.

Yes, it has the added hole behind the trigger. That's just one of a few boxes that I've updated on the data sheet, not sure why it was incorrectly checked, as it's obviously there.
