At least you got out there, and great you took the younger ones.
It's currently 92 here with 96 feels like, just stagnant out. Too much for me at our in the sun range.
So your a better man than me. Thumbs Up

I've been reading about the horrible flooding. Prayers sent...

92 here in NE Ohio with high humidity. I can't take the heat any more. I keep hoping for a cool down, but 88 doesn't cut it.

It was 94 degrees here yesterday and 93 the day before with high dew point and humidity.  Cooler today but still high dew point and humidity.  Has been nasty out.

Yes the flooding was horrible. I think death toll is 84 confirmed now, and will probably surpass 100 before all are found.

I spent about 6 months in San Antonio a little over 50 years ago while in USAF basic training and OCS. I did get my car down there and on weekends would drive out and explore the countryside, usually NW of town.  I do remember what I think they called dry crossings, where the roadway dipped down into normally dry creeks.  There were signs warning of flash floods and poles with water markers so you could see how much water was across the road in case of flooding.  THos were quite common. I was told a thunderstorm miles away could cause flash flooding on some of those roads.

Never shot any real military match, just ROTC college smallbore match where our triggers had to be no less than 3 lbs.
I have had a match grade air rifle with a trigge pull around 3 oz. The gun weighs about ten pounds so with me just shy of 80 years old, a long offhand string is a chore,  I recently got two earlier model air rifles, both about the same.

Some folks were talking about temperature and it is strange to see you guys gettting temps higher than what we are seeing here in E. Texas, but I suspect that will change.  I went out this morning on the patio to clean a few guns and just sitting down there for about 45 minutes my shirt was showing large sweat stains, and temp was in lower to low mid 80's at the time. We had had some rain last night so humidity was aroun 88%, miserable.

As much as I like to shoot my powderburners, I told my wife there will probably be no more until about October when it starts cooling off.   At least with my airguns I can step outside, shoot  a few minutes and get back inside before I get too hot.  I have 4 full blown target air rifles and 8 match air pistols, plus some sporter types that are biting hard on the heals of the match guns in the accuracy dept.  With some the big difference is the stocks and sights.

Jeff (jkingrph),

How do you like your Fulton-Armory M-1 after owning and shooting it since July, 2025?

I like it. I have not been able to get out to shoot due to some medical issues with my wife and myself.  My wife develoved severe hyponatremia, low blood sodium, which can be severe leading to convulsions and possibly death.  I caught it in time, I tried to get her up to the car to take her to the hospital, but by that point she was so week she could not take a step, so I called ems for a pickup.  She spent most of Dec in the hospital, few days in ICU, then a regular bed and finally about two weeks in a rehab hospital to regain some strength and mobility. Thankfully she is back to normal.  Christmas Eve sciatica came to visit me, It hurt so bad I could not turn over in bed, so i managed to get myself up and head to the ER. Got a shot for the pain and a big dose of prednisone, then waited for a cat scan Which confirmed diagnosis.  About ten days ago I had some steroid injections in the affected nerve areas, and will go back for another series in a couple of weeks.  A MRI also confirmed that I had what they called a severe ruptured disk.
Weather has been nice, upper 60's to low 70's but we just have not felt like a trip to the range, which is about 50 miles away.
