I ended up with a barrel off an underwood that was pitted out and not salvageable. I decided to have a good friend of mine turn it into a M3 knife to pay homage to the original blade marked. Heres the outcome. Our next project will be making a leather M6 Scabbard for it. Attached is a few photos of the process and some sketches of what I pictured the markings to be vs what we decided to go with.
