Looking for some advice from experts on market value.

A Good friend passed, and his wife asked me to help sell his firearms. I want to get her a fair price on a US Carbine M1. Still in its original box from the Red River Army Depot, purchased in 1964.

This M1 Carbine was manufactured by Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corporation. Ser#1,721,090. Block 1 Production. Barrel stamp Rock-ola 4-43. Long skirt on barrel/receiver and a flat bolt.

It has a lightweight wood stock with a (.U.) stamped in stock

IO stamped in the sling cutout.

Upper hand guard has 2 rivets.

The letters KI stamped in the barrel band with bayonet lug.

Front sights is marked N, possibly a Niedner

Adjustable type 2 Rear sight marked HI, possibly Inland

"cc / M" Marked on the Mag Release button

Based on what I could find, this weapon was a post WW2 rebuild in 1951 by the Underwood Furniture Co. It was upgraded with a new stock, bayonet lug, rear sight and upgraded safety.  The barrel, bolt and internal parts appear to be original. It was later shipped to the Red River Army Depot in Texarkana TX. It was sold by Red River Army Depot in 1964. Just by looking at this weapon, I would gather it has not been fired since it was rebuilt in 1951. It is still in its shipping box from the Red River Army Depot.

I am having issues uploading photos to this post

Some photo uploading tips here

1. The photos have to be within the size limts. The uploading software does not have the ability to automaticaly shrink them.  So use MS paint, or something like XnView or IRfan (freeware and shareware) and reduce the size and save under a new name.  I usually keep the old name and add an r at the end to indicate reduced.

2. Click on the picture symbol.  -> Click on the button to let you look through your computer's folders to find the photo.  Then upload the photo and finally hit the button to insert the photo into the message.

The upside to this method is that once you have uploaded the photo, its now stored in your carbine club photo folder.  You can insert it in any post in the future without uploading from your computer (or phone).
