Something I just noticed after submitting the two above posts, both carbines have Saginaw SG barrels, but the fonts are difference sizes. One is larger than the other.

Bumping this up so one of the more knowledgable can comment.
Wide tang suggests to me it a receiver made at Saginaw even though the number was assigned S'G'      My understanding is there were some S'G' numbers used early when the Saginaw plant started making carbines, and again toward the end of production.

Blue Sky is an import marking not the barrel manufacturer. Check the top of the barrel behind the front sight for the Manufacturer. See link below for examples.

OK, list updated.

KKCook, I did not hear back, as Matt pointed out there are a few things that stand out. Possibly a unfinished receiver sent to other location for finishing. Maybe a reused serial number, so pics to email or post please.

The serial number is 3 369 076.  I will take the cargine apart this week and send the information to you.  I kept looking for a reply in my mail box with no luck.  Fortunately I decided to look at my message and found your reply.  Sincerely, Jeff Slosser

My original correspondence was with W5USMC and it appears I am now sending this to New2brass.  Hopefully, this can be shared between the two of you.  I purchased this carbine about 1 year ago from a gun store in Houston, but the carbine was shipped to me from Colorado.  The barrel and receiver are as I received them.  The carbine was a mix/master and came with an IBM stock, plus misc. other parts from 5 major contractors.  If you want other info just let me know.  Sincerely, jsmoth

Question 1: Serial number - 3369076

Question 2: Initials above serial number - SG no periods

Question 3: Front ring details (use a capitol i for sanserif one) - CAL. 30 MI, serif on I, period after CAL., no period before 3, the 3 is flat top

Question 4: Rear tang - wide

Question 5: Rear left receiver detail - no ear

Question 6: Front and middle left detail - letter SG on lower left side, width of SG about 3/16" - perhaps 5/32", no additional letters

Question 7: Receiver bottom detail - in middle of bottom right side there is a short line that runs to edge - or perhaps a dash about 1/16" long

Question 8: Barrel manufacturer and date - SAGINAL S.G. DIV. over GENERAL MOTORS, no date

Question 9: Rear slide cut detail - round

I do not have a SG stock, mine is IBM

Please also see this post for requests of Saginaw numbers in the slingwell:

Dan, apologies for the delay. I think my email notifications may be off. I happened to re-read the thread and saw this.

Below is a link to an album of photos I just took. I don't make a habit of buying things from GunBroker, but that is where this carbine came from. After I received it, I'm pretty sure the stock is a Boyd's high wood that someone put markings on. It's a nice stock, but too perfect and the edges are too sharp in my opinion.

Besides that, I believe all the areas on the receiver are pictured here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/f2oVbCiibBgdgbeY7

If you'd like others, please let me know.

Kevin,
Thanks for getting back
The rear tang is narrow.
The receiver looks to be S'G' marked with the primes (apostrophes) lightly struck

Did you fix the email or do you need assistance?

It may be the pictures or the milling of the receiver. I’ve looked with emagnifying glasses and under multiple types of light, light at different angles, etc. and have found no trace of the primes.

I just added another photo to the album, should be the first picture.

Think I took care of the emails, I was alerted about your reply.

I had a strange message in my personal email this morning regarding a question I had submitted.  The only question I have ever asked regarded if you were still interested in submissions on SG receivers.  I did get a reply and I did submit the information I had on my SG receiver.  I don't know if I got a spam but I do know that the club site is not secure.  If the email was legitimate, I did get a reply to my question and I did submit information.  Thanks, jsmoth

JSmoth, please PM me the email address you received a question from. This way I can check if we have a spammer.
As to the site not being secure, I assume you are talking about the sight is HTTP protocol and nor HTTPS.

HTTPS is HTTP with encryption  end to end. This is needed for websites that support financial transactions, which we do not.
HTTPS comes with a monthly cost. We do not charge dues, nor do we run advertisements. To pay our internet hosting fees, ISP, forum software etc we rely on the little we make on newsletter sales. This would tip the scales and we would then need another revenue stream to support something that is not needed.

To maker it clear, never use the PM feature, or email through the forum for financial transactions.

Guys that post their email addresses in posts are opening themselves to unwanted emails from anyone reading the forums or internet crawlers. This is true on HTTPS sites as well.

EDIT to add, I think you may be getting forum notifications for a thread you are involved in. Look back a few posts where I replied to you not receiving notifications.

I sent you an email explaining, if that is the email you are concerned about.
