    Posted: Feb 15 2026 at 9:08pm
On Thursday, 1/29/26, I went to the members only day of the Show of Shows in Louisville, and had a great time as usual. I found one Carbine treasure for $15 that I want to share. I will also soon add it to my list of Carbine Books and Manuals in my collection, which can be seen at the following link:

https://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/topic5503.html

The item is a reproduction of "Notes on Materiel, U.S. Carbine Caliber .30 M-2 (T-4)" from 15 December 1944, published by the Michigan U.S. Carbine Collector's Association in May, 1993. Apparently there were supposed to be 2500 certified, serial numbered copies printed. This one is a "Certified True Copy - Non-Serial # Issue" with a signature. I am glad to add it to my collection.

I also met up with Dave T from this site at SOS, and it was a pleasure to put a face to a name. Hope we can meet again next time.

If you have any questions regarding the manual's content, I will be happy to answer.

welbytwo,

A serial number is visible in one of the photos, but it is illegible. It might be legible on an original.

It appears to be a standard 7 digit serial number, not like the assigned T4 serial numbers.

I received a request from member "RedRider" to make the document available, and so I'm doing so here for everyone's benefit.

Notes on Materiel, U.S. Carbine, Caliber .30 M2 (T-4)

You may download the 33mb size document at the following link:

http://www.sturmgewehr.com/dalbert/CarbineClub/M2%20Carbine%20Materiel%20Notes.pdf

If you find this helpful, please click on the "Thanks" button in the upper right hand corner.

Enjoy!
