I could not find anything specific in the CCNLs regarding stampings on Inland Receivers transferred to Underwood. Of interest is the .U. stamp above the lineout. The dot preceding the U is missing. Did Underwood stamps ever have only one dot with the U?

Reed, page 368 of War Baby.
The dots were likely just stamped so lightly that they are nonexistent, even the U itself looks lightly struck.
Falls in the correct serial range mentioned in table E of the serial # page.

Looks like several that I've seen. I had one where the first dot was there and the second was missing. Nothing unusual as far as I can see.

I'm sure that's genuine. That .U. stamp was done after the receiver was heat-treated. If the U stamp was deep, I'd be very surprised. I don't think the U was rolled on. Rather it was a flat die that was stamped on the crest of a curved surface. I would expect either the left or right period to be missing, depending on how level the die was, when it struck the receiver.

In other words, if the die was ever-so-slightly leaning to the right of perfectly vertical, the left period would be missing. In others seen, if the right period was missing, that would indicate that the die was canted slightly to the left of vertical....Or the carbine was not perfectly vertical (right side up) in the fixture.....Or either period was worn down on the die. Possibilities!

That receiver is fine.
