I recently purchased a really nice original early Winchester Carbine from an 83 Yr old fellow Floridian and since he was trying to sell a large portion of his collection he also talked me into buying a nice Post War rebuilt S'G'. He graciously threw in about 8 Magazines and quite a bit of Carbine Ammo to sweeten the deal. I was happy and he was happy - the Best kind of Carbine deal !

He was also wanting / needing to sell a WW2 Commemorative Iver Johnson Carbine and a WW1 Commemorative Colt .45 that he'd had for over 50 years but I wasn't interested since I focus my collection on Wartime used US weapons. I departed but after a few weeks he reached back out letting me know that he REALLY wanted to sell them to me. I told him again that I really wasn't interested, but being the quality gentleman he was, and because he kept lowering his price, and because I could sense that he really needed the $$$, I finally relented and bought them both to help him out. I admit I got hem at half or better of what they would go for on the current Market, but again, we both completed the deal happy.

Now I gotta figure out what to do with these Beautiful WW 1 and WW 2 Commemorative pieces LOL.

Thank you. I was thinking about doing that.

The Iver Johnson Carbine SerNo is WW00262 and I was doing some research just now online and am reading that less than 2000 of these were made in 1985 and I read that the gold highlighted parts may be 24 karat gold plated?

The Colt .45 is a Battle of Château Thierry commemorative pistol made in 1967.

Actually, it’s serial number is WW0262. That makes it one of the earlier ones produced.

Here's a pic I found online and it looks like it came from the Club but I cant find a link to it on the site now?

Thanks! I’m still trying to find how to get to that link that you just posted.  I looked in the post WW2 commercial Carbines but I can’t click on any hyperlink to get to what you show?

I agree with Hammer, bit difficult to find.
Easy way is use the Google search bar at top of the forum pages, under the banner. Center search for commercial carbines and enter commemorative.

the longer way, Click on the banner/ menu on left -Commercial Carbines/ Companies & Carbines/ look for and click the bullet for Iver Johnson. Scroll down to the Operation Overlord advertisment followed by the buttstock and you will see the link devoted to the IJ Commemorative Page.
