92 Carbines at Louisville Gun Show - Roger Larson

   For members in the Louisville area, I traveled to the National Gun Day Show yesterday, and there is a dealer there with 94 M1 Carbines.  They are all from Roger Larsons estate, from which they originally obtained about 480 Carbines.

I don't recall seeing quite this many Carbines in one place before, all lined up for inspection.  The show goes through today, 9/28/25 at 3pm if you want to go see them. The dealer that has them is A1 guns out of Florence, KY.

	I was there yesterday and saw them in person. It was really a great display of fake parts and fake cartouches. Would provide a unique hands on clinic for new carbine enthusiasts to get up to speed on distinguishing real from fake parts.

	I was going to go and inspect them at their shop--one of my carbine buddies had some fotos from them of 6 of them. After seeing the pics I decided was not going to spend 3 hrs driving to see what I can see on the internet today. Is a lot of what I call tuition guns out there today, each one is a education of what not to buy. I feel for the new collectors coming into the hobby today as most carbines I have ever seen for sale on the internet at GB and GI. And maybe a dozen of the 600 or so are collector grade guns. If you just want examples and do not care about real parts and real markings is a Heinz 57 variety of stuff out there to fill placeholders but most is way over priced for what it is.

	I understand being apprehensive about these Carbines, and I hope this thread will not devolve. Anyone who wishes to purchase a Carbine today should approach the purchase carefully, and due diligence should apply whether they are from this collection, or any other. Though the time has now passed this weekend to see these Carbines at the Louisville Gun Show, I think it was worth mentioning. You just don't see that many Carbines together at once. I saw about 60 in a display in Dallas one time in the mid to late 90's, but yesterday was the most I had seen at once. David Albert dalbert@sturmgewehr.com

	A1 sells as Crowley on GI. Don't see any on these Carbines listed after a quick search this morning, except one M1A1. Which I didn't look at. Ch-P777
