A couple of things I found yesterday at the Virginia Beach Gun Show that I will be bringing home with me today.  I put a hold on each and will close the deal today...

Sandy, hope you are able to "close the deal" on both today. Looking forward to more pics of the IP when you do.

Hello to all,
Just got home with both and my wallet is MUCH lighter (Huge Smile) !  I am going to have a celebratory drink of 25yo Dalwhinnie 25yo Scotch LOLClap  I feel like a kid at Christmas.

Give me about an hour or so and I will go take pictures and post them up by 5pm eastern time

Thanks for all the congratulations. Hopefully it is a good on the inside as it looks on the outside

Yes it still has the acceptance cartouche and also has the “IP” in a square stamped right beside it on the stock

I know I’m late in posting. Just finished taking pictures. Now download to computer and resize. New time is about 7pm eastern time.

I am so happy I don’t know what to do with myself.
There is NO rebuild marks anywhere as you will see in the pics.
Either someone spent a lot of money to get the correct parts or this is is an Honest to God soldier Bring-Back.

I have found only One Part that is not correct according to War Baby. The Front Sight is not marked and has “Thumb Nail” where marking would be. I also haven’t disassembled the Bolt or Trigger housing to check markings on actual trigger.

Happy just doesn’t describe how I feel

Very respectively

Thumbnail was used, the lack of number that late may be an issue.
Trigger I am not seeing the IP notch.
What are the markings on the bottom of the trigger housing?

what markings on the mags?

Edit to add: 23third pic (below) you can see the IP notch on the trigger.

Now the inside of the stock to look for cracks... :-)
Spoiler Alert...  I haven't seen any....

Looks Funny because I didn't catch the shadow in the lighting...   My Fault...

Marked Dead Center of top right below white mark on wood..  Marking is "RSG"

This one may be more clear...  You can see the left and right leg of the "R" from where they join in the middle, 1/3 of the "S" and the Bottom half of the "G".  Will have to Clean area of build up to get anything more clear.

Lastly for the evening will be a look at the bottom of the stock Group....

A nice looking carbine, thanks for sharing. I was wondering if there may be a faint stamp after the ‘S’ in LGKS?
The carbines of the occupation pages show LGKSb and LGKST as the markings used for two of Austria’s State Gendarmeries, but not LGKS

As an aside I like my LGKT - and interesting to see the differences in yours and mine. An arsenal rebuild replaced many of the metal parts on mine (as compared to yours) before it went to Austria.

So, this is a possible Bavarian IP or just have Bavarian marked parts in it? Also, is there another barrel proof other than the large P mark? It's definitely an rare bird no matter how you cut it.

I am thinking LGK ST.
Sandy, take a close look, does the trigger guard appear to have any polishing?

Look at the left receiver rail from the top, Is the finish consistent? any sanding or grinding marks?

And the mags, what marking?????
