Just picked up a NPM carbine, originally from CMP.  Can't figure out the hammer marking.  Appears to be an I with periods on either side, one period more prominent than the other.  Or is it an L?  Anyway, any guidance would be appreciated!

From what I've read, only Inland and NPM had any stamps using the letter I so it just about has to be one of those, most likely Inland.

Not unusual for parts to have light strikes.
