Thought this auction listing for this coming weekend might be of interest to other carbine collectors.  I did a quick check of War Baby I, and didn't find any mention of experimental marked carbines produced by UEF. Does anyone have any information if they really did produce any?  I just found it interesting.

War Baby page 378 mentions the presentation carbines with the E prefix.

The club has been keeping records of know E carbines in addition to all the other oddballs out there.
I will say that the description is not accurate. Observations of these carbines show that they were not made at the beginning of production. I do not believe the E stands for experimental.

Good reporting! If anyone observes any special carbine please report it to the club so we can get a more complete picture of them. If at a show try to get info for a data sheet. At the very least get the serial markings and the barrel information. Many times the exact front ring markings are extremely helpful.

CCNL 375 also talks about UW "E" codes and the expected production numbers based on the club's data.

When checking front sights for markings, look at the top, sides and forward section for markings.
