A little something different - my National Postal Meter M1 Carbine converted to .45 Winchester Magnum by Tim LeGendre of LeMag. He was the man behind the development of the .450 Bushmaster Rifle/cartridge.

Wish I had seen it. A spare bolt would be a good investment.

Love it, although that barrel sure looks thin. How does it shoot? I'm a fan of big bore rifles, bought a 450 bushmaster upper for one of my AR's many years ago and have to fight with my son every season over who gets to use it.

It shoots great. The carbine length barrel will push a 255gr Hardcast lead bullet to almost 1900 fps. Definitely good enough for dangerous game protection here in Alaska.

I’d be curious if you are able to ascertain what if anything has been done to “tune” the action. Gas system, spring rates....etc.
I haven’t checked pressure data for the 45-mag. Edit: I just looked at it and max chamber pressure is 40,000 psi. Using spec. components, 9 x 19 barely makes the cut and requires a couple of minor adjustments to run reliably in a 30-caliber action. 45 Winnie Mag should run better on spec. components. One does find ammo listed from $1.60 up to $2.60......if anybody has any.
