Stock sling well marking

Just purchased a NPM carbine with what appears to be a wartime replacement stock.  Sling well is marked with a prominent J (no pics yet).  I'm seeing possible contractors listed as Jennings, Jewell Brothers and Jamestown Lounge.  Any suggestions out there?

Single big J, Jewell Brothers wartime replacement stock. Look for a very small crossed cannons cartouche in sling well or right side of the stock.
