Here is a Nice Rock-ola Presentation rifle I picked up from a gent in Illinois recently . I believe that this is the first its been out in the public eye . The name on the presentation plate is George L Siegel who was a Lawyer who represented the Rock-ola Manufacturing Company in some litigation. Here are some pics

Very, very nice. Thanks for posting. I love the wood on this one.

I imagine many of these are still hidden away.

I've seen a couple of presentation Rock-Ola's that are nearly identical to this one. They are the most beautiful of presentation carbines I've seen. They come up at auction from time to time. Here are links to two others only two or three serial numbers away.

Interesting that the carbine that Mantynband received was in a Highwood stock and Siegel's was Low wood.

The number 20 appears on both the inside upper and lower rear section of the case. Note its orientation on both sides of the case as the numbers were reversed.

A number also appears in the same place on the Mantynband case. Sometimes I see a hint of two numbers, sometimes one, but definitely see a 5. If the case markings were "standardized", it is just a 5 since one is underneath the other or maybe I just can't make out the other number.

How many presentation carbines did ROCK-OLA issue? Those stocks look like they came from the same log.

It's an inexact science, but you kind of use these later presentations to see what kind of parts were left lying around as production wound down.

As often as RMC was in court it's no surprise they took care of their Lawyers. They learned that very early on:
https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=35330

Benjamin/Bugsy Siegel died from a M1 carbine. Catching 4 of 9 shots fired from 10-12' away.
His brother Dr Maurice Siegel claimed and buried him.

Many theories here about his death and who may have done it.
Interestingly 2 guys caught racing away from the scene were caught with a USGI Carbine in their car, but weren't charged.

A link if interested:

According to Ruth's War Baby there were 48 Presentation Carbines with the custom wood cases produced and an additional 12 without the case all with EX prefix . In the last 10 years I have only seen possible 8 come to market including mine . So there must be more hidden out there somewhere

well you can bet they were not tossed into the dumpsters! seems like one unreported pops up every couple years--they seem to bring more because of the cases then other presentations
