Hello all from Snow Hill, NC

My name is Robbie and I'm excited to join this group. I've recently begun to get interested in historical weapons from the WWII era and I'm hoping to get a M1 garand from CMP before their supplies dry up completely. I'm glad I found this site, because it looks like it will be a great resource to learn all about it and where the parts came from (once I get one at least). While I don't have one yet, I did want to share a beautiful Lee enfield Mk4 I found last year from a local shooting club that I was a member of before we moved to Snow Hill. A member's father-in-law had passed and it was being sold to help support his wife. From what I was told, the barrel and stock were shaved down a bit to make it a little lighter. Aside from that, it's a great rifle, though it is a little difficult to find 303 British around here. I tried adding a picture, but it seems my wifi wants to act up right now.

Welcome to the group. There are tons of info available here. And do click on the picture. It is a link that will take you to a site that you should study BEFORE you make you first purchase. You'll be glad you did!

Thanks, that was the plan. I want to first off, be able to tell if what I am getting is all original or not. I also hope by learning everything (or at least try to), I can more fully enjoy the rifle (s) I have.

Welcome. If you're interested in the M1 Garand I highly recommend joining the Garand Collectors Association (GCA). It's well worth the $25 and they have a great quarterly magazine.

Welcome from western NC! Second the suggestion to join the GCA if you are wanting to learn about the garand

Thanks Bigheavy31 and GotSnlB28, that doesn't seem bad at all. I'll look into it.
