Here's another. By Rob Flory. His grandfather was one of the RCA infrared scientists during and prior to WWII.

Wow, good eye to catch that that article is a repost to Naval History.

No, I don't have a C3. I just got interested in the IR aspect after I bought a 20k volt sniperscope and started researching them on the CC website.
