Hello,

I am new here and thought I would do a test.

The military rifles that my collection includes:
1954 Enfield Mk4 #2
1943 Inland M-1 Carbine (late of Italy & CMP)
1917 Eddystone (alas, sporterized with a cut off stock, but it still has "ears")
1903 Springfield (1905 receiver, 1918 barrel)
188? Gahendra Martini-Henry
1862 Enfield Pattern 1853

There's only one M-1 Carbine because I have just started collecting them.  I had been concentrating on guns like were used by the Black Watch.  Of course, the M-1 Carbine IS one of those.

Welcome, new here also. is the Gahendra Martini-Henry the one that was used in the Zulu war?

No.  That was the British made Martini-Henry.

The Gahendra was a copy that was hand-made made in Nepal.  It is not an exact copy.  No indicator as to whether it is cocked and whereas the M-H was fired with a striker, the Gahendra is hammer fired.  There are a few other minor cosmetic differences like the cocking lever & a bigger receiver..

Otherwise, it's the same gun.Wink

Welcome to the forum, it is nice to see collectors with a variety of collecting interest. I am not familiar with any of those other military firearms that you own. I heard of them, but that's all I know. You will learn much on this forum. I certainly have.
