| I've used a hardwood block and a hammer, with the receiver in a bench vise with hardwood blocks on the sides. It worked, but I'd have been upset if the dovetail was damaged. Bought the tool a few years back, well worth the $ IMO. |

| AND...be sure to push it the correct way, off left to right viewed from the rear. More than one dovetail has been ruined pushing it the wrong way. I never like to replace a sight unless absolutely necessary. If it’s heavily staked, those areas rip-out when pushed and may even have to be drilled-out to get a sight off without severe damage. |
