*NOTICE*

CMP updated affiliation going in this week! If you wish to be considered for list you must go to "members control panel" then click on "edit profile"and verify your mailing address. The fields may have changed since you joined
"address for CMP roster" put street address
"Town/city, state, zip"
"Last name, first" Please fill this out even though there is a field "Real Name"
Real Name is displayed and can be just a first name for others to see. The "Last name, first" is where we extract information for the CMP list
if putting middle initial or name  put after first name without comma.
Example Smith, John D

None of this information in these 3 fields are displayed or available to members!
Please use commas. Please do put in order as listed

As stated above that the club is dependent on its members sharing of information, submissions etc.
For that we offer CMP affiliation. If you are a lurker that has not posted or submitted anything please consider being involved for the next roster submission.

To be considered for the list you must have:
correct information as stated above, any omissions may preclude you from list
Already have at least 10 points which is displayed in your profile or:
If you submitted a data sheet or:
Purchased a complete set of newsletters through the forum. Please note that we barely break even on newsletter sets.  The thought process here is that those who purchase a set are committed to learning as much as they can about the US Carbine Cal.30.  This is an investment in the future of the club by having individuals who can help answer questions as well as report things not fully covered over the years.

If you meet this criteria then please post here you updated info. You can PM me but I am sure box will fill up fast
You can also email me Dan@uscarbinecal30  (dot) com

Going forward the criterion may change. Please keep sharing and reporting.

Certain courtesy may be extended on an individual basis

From another post:  http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/cmp-question_topic3266.html#23549" rel="nofollow - http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/cmp-question_topic3266.html#23549

Question was asked what to put in club affiliation space: Carbine Collectors Club.
You can also add the club number to help the CMP folks along. If you did not and submitted do not worry as they know well who we are.

As to the requirement of showing club proof: Our relationship with the CMP is a bit different. We provide a spread sheet of those who met our eligibility requirements. (See above)
They know who we are and check the spreadsheet. If there is a issue please let me know.

Don't know that I'll ever get anything from the CMP but I updated my info just in case.

Thanks Dan!  Didn't realize the CCF was affiliated with the CMP.

Being the first of the year my affiliation FOP membership expired and I emailed the CMP about using the CCC for that purpose.  I just got a reply from the CMP they need a copy of my club card.  I provided them the explanation of the CCC's relationship and using the spreadsheet.  I don't know if once you're affiliated via the CCC it has to be updated periodically or not.  If so then others may not have a valid affiliation.  I'm waiting to hear back regarding the provided spreadsheet but thought I would let folks know of my encounter.   Happy New Year!

Slingo, My Aug 28 post confirmed you are on the list as well as the others that posted in that range. I should have been more specific.

The following goes for anyone,
If you are having an affiliation issue PM me. Let me know if it was 1911 sales or general CMP sales as they are actually separate entities for this purpose.
Please let me know the contact name if you have it. Do not call back for the name if you do not have it.
They have their hands full, I have the correct people to bring any issues to their attention.

Got a 9k number. If they get more I have a chance.
Checking their RNG post there was a 11k number.

Anyone win this lottery? Post some pics

No number for me either.  I like W5USMC's idea of another carbine. Besides you get more for your money.  Actually the more I think about it, the more I like that idea.  Ut oh, I feel a bout of carbineitus coming on.  Could be a WTB in the making...

Interesting to look at sold auctions on GB to see what the 1911s look like.
beautiful hard cases I must say.

Sadly this seemed to happen with the last lottery of carbines as well.

After a year and a half from getting my number 15959 and 2 years from sending in my packet, I got a call from CMP in Anniston yesterday asking did I want a 1911.  I said sure and sha-zaam they shipped it overnight.  Picked it up this morning at my LGD.  Haven't looked it through but its a mixmaster with an Ithaca frame with Rand slide.  Nice and clean with no wear patterns. Anybody have a simple way of telling original finish from re-park?  I figure I'll get my Clawson and Meadows books out and see what I got.

Looking at the CMP forum re:1911s they are into the 16000s.  Fact is I gave up when I got my high number and didn't realize they are going through the numbers filling orders.   That was a pleasant surprise.

17 emails and several PMs has brought it to my attention that the CMP has opened a second round lottery for those that did not get an RNG number the first time.

http://thecmp.org/sales-and-service/1911-information/" rel="nofollow - https://thecmp.org/sales-and-service/1911-information/
from the CMP link above
If you have already purchased a 1911 whether from the previous Random Number Generator system or the Auction site, YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER 1911 at this time.

I am sure many will jump again only for CMP affiliation. Please read the first page of this thread about our requirements to be added to the list. Also CMP affiliation was addresses in the first line of the EULA that is to be read before agreeing to join the forum
Due to the work involved for list maintenance it is done when there is time and we will not submit lists more than quarterly.

The good/bad news is that it will probably take months before the second round of RNG numbers are established and still longer for the sales as they have not exhausted the first round.

To those who have received a 1911 or have a nice 1911 to share we have a section where this can be shared within the general section/other wartime weapons

Hi,
I have been told that carbine collectors club is not affiliated with the next round of 1911 release, emails from them, saying no affiliateion, with CMP, but some people from club say yes they are, so I just don’t know what to believe, I don’t want to miss out on this, so I guess I will go to the Garand Ass, and join them,,,

John, that somebody is me that told you were are affiliated. I am the one that does the paperwork I am the one that updates the list and has to go line by line to make sure thing like "last name, first name" are done in order.  I am also the one who paid the dues and see it listed on my credit card statement.
Then there are the emails from people who did not even do an introductory post, have no interest in carbines and asking to be fast tracked on the list.
This is all very time consuming. This is not a complaint, just a small window of the things I do.

The club has always seen an uptick in membership when certain items came to the CMP. We have dealt with it even though not always carbine related.
When it came to the point it where it was unlikely that the CMP was not going to get any more carbines there was talk of dropping affiliation. I was the one that fought to keep the affiliation as a benefit to our membership.

As we discussed in emails, the club is affiliated and the dues was paid. That it will take a few days for everything to go through.

The person at the CMP that handles the affiliations is not in the office on the weekends this could not be rectified till Monday at the earliest.

The 1911 end is separate from the other offices. I contacted the 1911Admin and discussed this and again he will have to wait till Monday.

I do highly recommend the the Garand Association, For $25 you get a quarterly publication. Lots of great guys in the GCA, many of them are here as well.

You can join online at
http://thegca.org/" rel="nofollow - https://thegca.org/

Once again, Thank you for your patience

CMP Affiliation 2021

Everyone that met the requirement was on the first quarter list. Second Quarter List is going in the next day or two which adds those that either updated or corrected their information as well as those who meet the minimum requirements.

If you are unsure of anything please ask! If everything was not in order then you are out of luck!

I'd like to be on that list. I think all my info is up to date.

Check your profile. For firearms sale you must have your street address, no P.O. Boxes. I believe you can buy things other than firearms and ammo with a PO box.
Items in red cannot be seen by members, The top 3 are required to be filled out correctly for CMP purchases.
Date of birth shows at the bottom of the home page when it is your birthday. We do not need it.
Age however is in your profile. Lets others know what age group you are in.

Address for CMP Roster:Street number and street name
town/city, state, zip: town, state, zip
Last Name, First: Please! Last Name, First
Real Name: What people see in your profile
Gender: this helps when we fill out yearly report
Date of Birth: not displayed, but shows whose birthday it is today
Age: others can see
Location: this is what others see. Must have town and state for selling
Occupation: others can see
Interests:others can see

The list is compiled every 4-6 months. Next list is going in the first week of October.
If anyone else needs to be on the CMP eligibility list please check your information.

Some common mistakes are not having the last name first (comma) followed by your first name.

Correct
Smith, John

Incorrect
John Smith
Smith John (no Comma)

The comma is needed to separate the last and first name to correct columns.
If you put your name in the wrong order the CMP may not search your last name in the first name column.

Thank you for making this job easier

My wife and I are interested in participating in one of CMP’s shooting programs later this summer, and need to claim membership in an affiliated org. How do I become validated as a member of US Carbine’s?

I did send in my data sheet last week and received a confirmation email.

Thanks
Tim

It worked! Yesterday I emailed CMP customer service to get my account updated using the CCC as affiliated club.  Got reply today saying it was updated and sure enough it works.

Thanks Dan!

Tim, The next update goes in the first week of April, which you will be on, as well as anyone that has met the requirements and have their full and correct information in their profile.

Slingo, yes it works, you have been on the list for a long time now!

I have tried 2 or 3 times before but the Cust Service rep didn't know what I was talking about or I got no reply.   This is great.  Do you know if they automatically update CCC members' accounts each year or do we have to request an update?

Thanks!

At least for CMP e-store, my experience has been that I need to email customer service every year to update my membership status, even though I am both a GCA member and CCC member and it has never lapsed.

Am am not sure what the CMP has to do on their end for an individual account.
The club has a different relationship with the CMP in that we do not do membership cards.
When you call or submit an order you put the club name and number and they pull up the clubs approved roster to see if you are on it and proceed.

I know there there have been some changes in the employees over the years. If you are having trouble with them not understanding the club list Please PM or email me the details and I will talk to them to find out how things can go smoother.

Based off previous posts, it looks like it will be a few months, but any idea when the list will be updated again? I know I don't have the required points on my account yet, but assuming it's a month or so out I can't see that being a problem.
