Springfield barrels have been seen with various dates and markings.
What seems consistent is where they are dated. What varries is the location of the ordnance wheel.

Please report here dates, marks and their locations. As always pictures very helpful

I don't have this one anymore, sold it a few months back, here are some shots of the date. I don't remember any Ordnance Wheel.

Was it just a barrel or was it attached to a carbine?

Very cool. The barrel is nice and has that weathered look to it. Any pics of the IP receiver like markings, SN, etc...? Tia.

Do you remember if there were any marks on the bottom of the receiver near the rear trigger lug?

I'll try to post some pics of one this weekend. Pretty sure it's a 51. Don't remember anything else.

Ted unfortunately the receiver has been re-parked, but I tore it down anyway and the only mark I could find/see was a F on the bottom near the front lug.

Ok, thanks for response.  PM me if your other IP receivers have any marks in that area.  Don't want to hijack and will keep on topic.

Looking forward to seeing other SA barrel pics.  Have yet to see anything from SA in person other than an M1A1 handguard.

Link below:
If anyone can pull the Pictures from a Auction, there is a New SA 11-51 full barrel assembly.
Front sight marked on right side @ 2'o clock position from the pin: SA
Because of a partial strike, the P stamp appears more like a D

Unfortunately the seller's pics are slightly out of focus. Combined with the under exposed dark areas I can't get them to improve much.

Monte Ferrari brought me several to examine. Two of them were new in wrap SA barrels.
This one is interesting. The protective paper is dated 1959.
The barrel date is 9 51, and it was rolled upside-down.
Front sight SA marked
Barrel band marked Q

http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/forum/uploads/5600/NIWSAbarrel.jpg

The flat of the barrel has the typical CC
the bottom of the barrel has the "L" as pictured in one of the previous posts.

the other barrel was dated 10 51 and in the correct orientation. This also had a SA front sight and Q T3 band.

Anyone looking for a new barrel reach out to Monte
