Topic - M1 Carbine Question

Thank you, I will get a few more pictures tomorrow. From what I read the barrel is most likely the original. It is an Inland Mfg. Div. General Motors 6-44. Also from what I understand it was one of the airdrop carbines to the French in late 1944. I did assume the ventilated handguard was something added, however it does appear to be period correct and from what I understand mostly used on paratrooper carbines but I was told some regular ones did have them. However, they appear to be ones later in production. Also, with the flat top bolt it certainly must be one of the last ones since in mid 1944 they used the round tops.
