This is a type ll highwood oval cut with SG in a box and ordnance cartouche on right side.
Both are 1/2" tall.
I can't decide what is stamped in the sling well. The letters are approx 1/4" tall. Under certain light it appears to be RMC. Under other lighting it appears to be RSG. There are no other numbers/letters stamped in the sling well. I have researched my books and newsletters 72,136,159,and 327.
My gut tells me it is a Rock Ola stock made for Saginaw Gear, but would love to have someone confirm that.
I can take more pics if needed.

Rockola did not make stocks for Saginaw nor Grand Rapids. That location is consistent with RSG which is Robert Irwin Co. for both Saginaw and Grand Rapids plants.
Normally Saginaw had other markings in slingwell as well.

There are two or three other RSG threads that are recent.

Thanks, Dan,
So here is another case where Riesch 5th edition is incorrect (page 108). I will edit my book
accordingly.
There quite well could be other marks in the slingwell but the texture is so rough, I can't make them out.
Thanks again.

When I look at the top sling well picture I see a definite RSG.
