This is for sale by a milsurp dealer. I'm not finding a mention of it in the forum or on the main website. Mechanical Training US Carbine, Caliber .30, M-2 Notes for Troop Instructors Compiled by 1st Lt. John T. Carley Jr and 1st Lt. Jared W. Morrow Published by the Infantry Journal Press Washington D.C., c. 1950 This is the second time I've come across the Infantry Journal Press. Anyone know more about them? The closest listing on the club website is: MTP3-49 Army Infantry School, Lesson Plan: Carbine Cal. .30, M1 Mechanical Training, 6 hours 15 Dec 1942 If someone here is interested in training and related docs, let me know. I was going to buy it with some other stuff but then decided the other items were not in as good a condition as I wanted. I assume there is no library of carbine books, films, etc., just personal research collections. Correct me if I'm wrong. Edited by Matt_X - Mar 15 2021 at 8:53pm |

Hello Matt_X,
I'm interested if this item might still be available for sale. Please PM me if you have a link. I'm not aware of a public library with Carbine books. David Albert dalbert@sturmgewehr.com |

David. That's great. I'm finding all of the support related stuff as interesting as the weapons. I'll get you the link. --- edit: It was sold. :( Sent you the link anyway. You may have to cut and paste the url text.

Hi Matt,
Thank you for your PM's, and for relying to my inquiry. I find the support related items more interesting than the weapons, in most cases. Manuals have always been my keen area of interest. Paper items associated with weapons, including the Carbine, provide snapshots in time as to their development, status, accessories, modifications, use, and can provide insight into how misunderstandings or errors became perpetuated. Thanks Again! David Albert dalbert@sturmgewehr.com |
