Hi, I have an Inland Carbine 7-44 The mag release is marked ''M'' with 2 small  ''c'' over the M. I assume it is Inland ? It has been rebuilt by Underwood .  Is the release war time or post war? Also who made it. I have looked very where I could think of. I have seen pictures but no information.
Retired USAF SMSGT, S.O.G.CATM, NCB WAREFARE.

The mag catch as you describe it was made by Commercial Controls or what National Postal Meter became at the end of it carbine contract.

Not to be confused with the M in horseshoe (C).
The M in C or horseshoe is Mc Cullough Co.
