Wondering if I might get some input from members on whether or not this holster looks to be an authentic original or reproduction.

I am having a difficult time confirming.

It looks very new, with no vertigras, the greenish copper corrosion that forms on brass with age. (unless this was found in a dry storage environment where it has been since it was made) The leather looks new with no age, dried out or cracked.
I'm no expert but it looks like a good repro.

Thanks for your input.  I was feeling like everything was looking to clean to be original as well.

But if you look in the 3rd picture down, that brass tab looks to have left a greenish mark on the leather.  Would that be some vertigras starting there?

The snaps do seem to be blackened brass and show some wear as well.

First let me say that I have never handled a canvas carbine holster and know very little about them.

From what little I know about other web gear I will say the following.
Materials have changed over the years as well as the dyes. I cannot remember why at the moment but do not think that bronze color is available.

Looking at the color differences as well as the bias edging I would say that was made by someone doing mass production. not consistent with limited run reproductions. But never say never.

I do seem to remember something about cases being elongated or shortened.
Looking at this one I wonder why the muzzle end is different material. or is it because the material needs to be heavier?

It looks post war to me. I have several post war items that are turning green and a job keeping them bright. Same with the canvas, I have an M1 canvas carrying case,"new" that looks just like yours.

This image shows it as a more olive drab color.  With the muzzle end possibly having an added layer of material.

The color of the canvas in the previous pictures was probably due to the camera flash.
