LAX Ammunition is a California based ammunition company that does mail order as well as storefront operations. They are expanding to a nationwide ammunition dealer
I am told their ammo is as good as any commercial equivalent ammo available and it's not equivalent to the Russian stuff. Right now they have 500 rounds in a plastic ammo can of factory new (not reloads) for 159.00 delivered. I do not know how long this will last. Currently it shows 30 available. I have noticed that the website can be laggy. This may be due to the fact that Californians can no longer order ammo via mail come Jan 2018. Get em while they are hot!

I pretty sure the "new" is their loads with new brass, whereas reloads are just that...same loads using previously fired brass. See their About Us page, "...manufacturing our own high quality reload and new ammunition...".

Can't imagine how hard it may have been before the ole interweb to find 30C ammo. I have yet to find it in these parts unless it is was at a show.
Have been looking for .30-30 ammo. Tought to find but a website let me setup an alert when it was back in stocks. Not long ago, received an email it was back in stock. Delivered right to my door. BTW, thanks to new2 and others for the heads up. |

Received ammo today. Came loose in plastic ammo can. Head stamp LC72.
So is this repacked lake city, or is this somehow their stamp. All in all a good deal. Wont be going to range anytime soon. |

With LAX being "new" I would have thought their brass would have been a new commercial brass loaded by them. I have some 44 Mag from them that is in Starline brass. But being "new" and in LC72 brass you would think mil-surp or they bought up some surplus unused brass somehow. But then their ad does say "MADE IN USA BY LAX AMMUNITION". The mystery continues or we could ask.

Not to cause issues and your experiences may be different but. A few years back I bought, during the great ammo shortage 500 rounds of Lake City surplus GI 30 Carbine rounds from a military supplier for target shooting. There was no way to tell how old they were, they came in original 50 round brown boxes saying Lake City. When shooting with these, I found I had a lot of mis-fires, when reading about GI ammo, I read that the new primers then used were susceptible to attracting moisture over time, a trade off instead of using the older corrosive primers. I believe that's the case with the ammo I bought, I just finally used the last of it and had 21 out of 50 mis-fires, I won't buy military surplus ammo again, there is no way to tell how old it is, and if I did how would I know the use by date?
