This is an interesting Saginaw S'G' receiver I picked up. It was a mix master carbine but I think the barrel is original to the receiver. What makes it interesting is the serial number appears to have been ground off and restamped. I don't think this was done after it left the factory because the size and font of the numbers is exactly like those used by Saginaw S'G'. The receiver is a Saginaw SG but was sent to Saginaw Grand Rapids and stamped Saginaw S'G' and a Saginaw Grand Rapids serial number. Barrel is a Saginaw SG which to my knowledge was used in this serial number range. Thought it was kind of interesting so I thought I would share

kro1970, that is very interesting. CCNL 357-11 discusses the Saginaw SG and S'G' mixture and after reading it I would agree that the barrel is original to the receiver. Hope to hear what others have to say.
