Hi Everyone!  Just wanted to introduce myself.  I primarily shoot black powder/civil war small arms in competition but have fell in love with this gun.  Started back when I was a kid and had a Crosman M1 as my "first" rifle.  Anyway, Wifey bought me Inland 6-44 and I can't get enough info on the history of these. Glad to find this place and be aboard!

I will!  Thanks!  I've had it apart several times to record info, then I got the bolt tool so I could identify what's in there as well.  Will do.

Welcome brother, and it's interesting how many of us come from very different firearm sub communities, only to converge here where this special little rifle pulled us all in.

I'll try to post some basic pics.  I think it's mostly Inland and Underwood parts that I find.  It's been to RIA with the stock stamped RIA/EB.

It appears that the carbine spent some time in Italy.

Any Mark's in the sling well?

Welcome to the forums.

I have seen on barrels. I have never seen it on the dovetail. you have it on both

Most common is the stock has the FAT mark with a date under it.

Well that's one way to prove you have a complete FAT barreled receiver. The marking on the receiver is very cool!

I'd love to own that rifle, especially now. Seeing aspects like this make me really wish that these carbines had their parts serialized and matched when either new, or rebuilt at an arsenal across the board.
