I am working on a project and I have some reports of parts markings I have never observed. Please let me know if you have any of the following
Recoil Plates marked PU, JU, PL-W (Not P-LW) Front Sight marked PU Hammer marked O .U. I will be updating the list from time to time. |

In my quest to collect an example of every marked part for the carbine I made a list from all the books and Newsletters and even reports (or misreports) on the internet.
Some I strongly suspect as errors such as the O.U. hammer above. Recently I bought a carbine, in partial, based on the sear marking of SE-Q. This is listed in a very popular carbine parts book, but never reported to the club. Does anyone have one of these? The above post shows how careful vetting of a mark is important. After giving a rub with a stiff brush and adjusting lighting it turns out it is really a GE-Q sear with a broken or partial stamp.
When reporting it would be wise if not providing a picture to copy the font as best as possible. Font and punctuation is important. |

While I can understand the thought that it looks like SE-Q, I feel pretty sure it says GE-Q, but in a partially stamped kind of way. |

I can see it both ways, but lean towards "SE-Q."

I think it is a poorly stamped "GE-Q". It looks like the "E" is incomplete as well. Compare to this.

Guys,
It is listed in Reish page 85 and the website guys are using to look up parts! It even shows that this sear could show up at 4500000 which is a very interesting serial number. It seems they put in the new parts, maybe at 100k intervals? (am I being heavy enough on the sarcasm ) So again, has anyone ever seen an SE-Q sear? |

Nope, not me. But I think I found a O.U. hammer, see below. If you look at it just right with your eyes partially closed the Q.U. becomes O.U. |

Ruth does mention an "SE-Q" Type B (with hole) on page 387 of War Baby!. However, the only manufacturer noted in the subcontractors list is Gerrard Co. (marked "GE-Q") and Robert Bobbins Co. (marked "BOB").
I have never seen one marked "SE-Q". Aitchison's September 1944 memo identifies "SE" as Seneco Machine Co. However, I could not find them listed among any of the carbine subcontractors in WB. |
