This Winchester, SN 1,061,066, has a rare type 1A receiver with a detachable spring tube, the first version built by Winchester. It has been restored to the proper configuration as specified by Carbine Club Newletter 336: Winchester 1st Block Update.

The Highwood, I-cut stock and bullnose handguard are a decent match. The stock has quite a few dings and displays the character of being in combat. A previous owner has scratched the name "Elizabeth Gray" on the left side of the stock, probably to honor a sweetheart back home. There is a 1/2 inch hairline crack behind the recoil plate which should not affect function. See photos. There are no import stamps. The barrel shows practically no wear. The muzzle wear gauges an almost perfect 0.1. The bore is bright and shiny, and there is no type 3 barrel band shadow.

I have thoroughly inspected it, properly lubricated, and test fired it. Comes with a 15 round mag and a Winchester coded (SW) oiler.
