picked up an Iver Johnson 9mm Carbine and this sling was on it, held in place by a 5.56 loaded rd as the oiler:).
The Carbine is neat....sn 2119 so made at the end of the run....anyway this sling is marked S.M. Co.? and 1944......very nice condition....wondering if its real GI....If so I will put it with my QHMC which was made in feb-mar 44 at the end of their run. Sort of on subject I guess. I have had a lot of experience with the IJ9, but have moved on to modifying a USGI carbine. I still have some parts you might be interested in and LOTS of first hand experience in making one run.
You can PM me if further contact is desired.
