If your serial number is not preceded by a letter code, indicates between 1965 and 1978. 90,000 were produced during this time frame. A 44xxx sn might place manufacture midway between 65 and 78. This info, along with other info is available on the web pages….just click the banner at the top of the forum main page and it will take you to the web pages. Click on commercial carbines, companies and carbines….then the Plainfield cartridge base.
